Hubballi: Wife and Lover Arrested in Husband’s Murder: APMC Navanagar Police Crack Month-Old Case
Hubballi: In a significant breakthrough, the APMC Navanagar police have successfully resolved a nearly month-old murder case, leading to the arrest of two individuals – the victim’s wife and her lover.
The case unfolded on January 10 when the APMC Navanagar police discovered the lifeless body of 47-year-old Chandrashekhar Lamani near the Maradagi Road border in the fields of Shivanand Koppad. Chandrashekhar, a resident of Banjara Colony on Gokul Road, was identified as the deceased.
The investigation gained momentum when Manjula, Chandrashekhar’s 40-year-old wife, raised suspicions about her husband’s death, filing a complaint with the police. Subsequently, Suresh Lamani, the deceased’s brother, expressed doubts in another complaint, suggesting that someone close to Chandrashekhar might be involved in his demise.
Led by Inspector BS Mantur, the police delved into the case, revealing a shocking twist. It was unveiled that Manjula and her lover, Riyaz Ahemad Dargad, a 49-year-old resident of Old KHB, Kamakshi Layout, Navanagar, conspired to kill Chandrashekhar, perceiving him as an impediment to their illicit relationship.
Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar commended the investigative team for their swift resolution of the case.
